Thunder in the afternoons; the sea begins to swell. Maldivian fishermen and farmers have planned by Burunu for centuries; the almanac says the same thing every year, and it is right more often than the forecast.

For photographs: storm light. Great skies, and a plan B indoors is wise. Hulhangu is quieter on the islands and the sunsets are the best of the year; if it rains, we wait twenty minutes.
